At White Hawk Iztatutli, we are more than just a nonprofit organization; we are a community rooted in tradition, culture, and the passion for danza. Founded by Guillermo and Anaii Aranda, who first learned the art of danza at the Centro Cultural de la Raza in San Diego, CA, under the guidance of Florencio Yescas from Tacuba, México, we carry forward a rich legacy of cultural expression.

Join Us and Be a Part of Our Xilonen Ceremony

Xilonen, which means "tender corn" in Nahuatl, is a powerful rite of passage ceremony for young women, deeply rooted in tradition. This 3-day celebration is a beautiful journey of rebirth, community, and spiritual connection. With prayer, dance, and the guidance of their elders, the young Xilonens embrace their responsibilities and are honored as they transition into a new phase of life. This ceremony is a testament to the strength of community, the reverence for the earth, and the divine connection that unites us all. White Hawk has hosted this 3 day ceremony for 42 years.
